Terms of Service
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the BuddyFund mobile application and related services (“BuddyFund,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By accessing or using BuddyFund, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our app.
1. Purpose of BuddyFund
BuddyFund is a social platform that allows individuals to request and provide small donations for everyday necessities. We are not a financial institution, charity, or fundraising platform for large campaigns. BuddyFund provides a space to connect people in need with those who wish to help.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use BuddyFund. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and truthful.
3. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information and for all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized use, you must notify us immediately. BuddyFund is not liable for losses caused by someone else using your account with or without your permission.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use BuddyFund only for lawful purposes and in a way that aligns with its mission. You must not:
Post false, misleading, or fraudulent requests or information.
Attempt to deceive or scam other users.
Use BuddyFund to promote inappropriate, hateful, or illegal content.
Engage in harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind.
Impersonate another person or entity.
Attempt to hack, disrupt, or misuse the platform or payment systems.
Solicit funds for illegal or prohibited purposes.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms or is suspected of fraudulent or abusive activity.
5. Donations and Payments
All donations made through BuddyFund are voluntary and non-refundable. BuddyFund does not guarantee that donations will be used in any specific way or that a user’s stated need is accurate.
We partner with third-party payment processors to handle financial transactions securely. BuddyFund does not store or control users’ payment information. By making or receiving donations, you also agree to the terms of our payment partners.
6. Location Data
By using BuddyFund, you agree that we may collect and use your device location to provide app functionality, including displaying posts from users near you.
You are responsible for granting location permissions on your device. Disabling location permissions may limit certain features of the app, including the ability to see nearby posts.
7. Content Ownership and Conduct
You retain ownership of any content you post but grant BuddyFund a non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute it within the app for functionality purposes.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of the content you share.
We may remove or restrict access to any content that violates these Terms or community standards.
8. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
9. Limitation of Liability
BuddyFund provides the app and its services “as is” and “as available.”
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuddyFund and its owners, employees, and partners are not liable for any:
Losses, damages, or harm resulting from user interactions, donations, or communications.
Financial disputes between users.
Misuse of funds, fraudulent activity, or third-party actions.
Technical issues, data loss, or service interruptions.
Users assume full responsibility for their interactions and transactions within the platform.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BuddyFund and its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) that arise from your use of the app, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of another person or entity.
11. Modifications
We may update or modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted in the app with a new “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of BuddyFund after any changes means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Termination
We may suspend or delete your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in harmful, fraudulent, or unlawful activity.
You may stop using BuddyFund at any time by deleting your account.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and interpreted according to the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
